Description

A short A-line cocktail dress in satin and tulle, cut as two pieces, with a bateau neckline. Applique runs across the bodice, and the skirt falls from the natural waist to above the knee. The two pieces meet at the midriff. It suits a cocktail party or a sweet sixteen.

Tulle gives the skirt a light shape over the satin lining, so it holds to the hem. The applique is stitched down flat across the bodice. The two pieces are cut to sit together at the waist. The back is closed with a hidden zip. Underneath, the tulle lining holds the shape, so the hem stays level. The tulle lining carries the shape, which keeps the hem sitting straight.
