Description

A short Empire-line wedding dress in satin and tulle with a strapless neckline. The waist seam sits high under the bust, with the skirt falling from there to above the knee. Beading runs along the neckline and in a band at the waist. The high waist lifts the line, which balances the short hem.

Tulle layers over the satin lining, so the skirt keeps volume without stiffening. The bodice is held so the strapless neckline keeps its shape, and the beading is set by hand along the edge. A zipper back closes the dress, and the short hem stays clear of the ground. The skirt is gathered where it meets the seam, which gives the tulle something to fall from. The bodice is lined to the waist, which keeps the satin smooth across the front.
