Description

A short A-line cocktail party dress in satin and organza with a V-neck. Sequins mark the bodice, and the skirt falls from the empire seam to above the knee. The V sits at a moderate depth. Sleeveless and light, it suits a cocktail party or a sweet sixteen.

Organza gives the skirt a light shape over the satin lining, so it holds to the hem. The sequins are sewn by hand across the bodice. Cut to a moderate depth, the V frames the neck. Lacing at the back takes up the fit across the ribs. Underneath, the organza lining holds the shape, so the hem stays level. The organza lining carries the shape, which keeps the hem sitting straight. With organza lining below, the hem keeps an even line. The lace-up closes the dress, which keeps the back looking tidy.
