Description

A short A-line cocktail party dress in organza with a scoop neckline. The bodice carries beading, and the skirt falls from the empire seam to above the knee. The scoop falls just below the collarbone. Sleeveless and light, it suits a cocktail party or a sweet sixteen.

Organza gives the skirt a light shape over the lining, so it holds to the hem. The bodice is beaded by hand in a straight row. Cut level, the scoop crosses the chest evenly. Lacing at the back takes up the fit across the ribs. A narrow waist seam marks the middle on its own. The waist seam sits narrow, which defines the middle. The skirt is gathered at the seam, which gives it something to fall from. Gathering at the seam keeps the skirt from pulling flat.
