Description

The column line is cut in satin, with a sweetheart neckline. The bodice is beaded and the skirt is cut in tiers from the natural waist to above the knee. The sweetheart cut sweeps level across the chest. It works just as well in a beach ceremony or a summer reception.

Satin holds an even surface over the full lining, so the tiers keep their shape to the hem. Beading is applied by hand in a straight line over the bodice. Fastening at the back, the hem stays clear of the sand. The skirt is gathered at the seam, which gives it something to fall from. Gathering at the seam keeps the skirt from pulling flat. The skirt gathers at the waist, so it keeps some movement.
