Description

A knee-length A-line little girls party dress in satin and tulle with a strap neckline. Applique marks the bodice, and the skirt is cut in tiers from the natural waist to below the knee. The straps hold the neckline in place.

Tulle gives the tiers their shape over the satin lining, so each holds its line. The tiers are stitched into the skirt seams. Applique is sewn flat against the fabric. A concealed zip does the fastening at the back. Underneath, the tulle lining holds the shape, so the hem stays level. The tulle lining carries the shape, which keeps the hem sitting straight. With tulle lining below, the hem keeps an even line. The applique is set by hand, so it sits flat against the satin. Hand-set applique keeps the detail sitting flat on the satin.
