Description

A tea-length A-line first communion dress in taffeta and satin with a lapel neckline. Applique, hand-made flowers and a bow mark the bodice, and the skirt falls from the empire seam to just below the knee. The lapel folds back at the chest. The hem stops below the knee.

Taffeta holds its shape over the satin lining, so the skirt keeps a crisp line. Nothing inside is left raw, and the lining stays soft. The lapel is pressed so it holds its fold. It closes with a back zip. Underneath, the satin lining holds the shape, so the hem stays level. The satin lining carries the shape, which keeps the hem sitting straight. With satin lining below, the hem keeps an even line. The seams are pressed open, which keeps the skirt falling flat.
