Cut in satin, the short A-line dress has a strapless neckline. The bodice is beaded, and the skirt falls from the natural waist to above the knee. The front is lined so the neckline holds without straps. It carries off a beach reception or a summer ceremony.

Over satin lining, tulle holds the skirt in a light line. The bodice carries a straight row of hand-set beading. Fastening at the back, the hem stays clear of the sand. Below the skirt, tulle lining carries the shape to the hem. With tulle lining under the skirt, the hem stays true. tulle lining below keeps the hem sitting level. The bodice holds a smooth front thanks to the lining. The skirt is gathered at the seam, which gives it something to fall from.
