A knee-length trumpet two piece mother of the bride dress in satin with a strapless neckline. Applique runs across the bodice, and a jacket comes with the dress, with the skirt following the body before flaring below the knee. The neckline holds without straps.

Satin holds an even surface over the full lining, so the flare keeps its shape. The applique sits flat, stitched in place. The jacket is lined and finished on all edges. The back seam carries a zip. The waist seam is kept narrow, so it marks the middle without a belt. A narrow waist seam marks the middle on its own. The waist seam sits narrow, which defines the middle.
