Description

A floor-length A-line formal mother dress in chiffon and satin with a V-neck and long sleeves. A sash marks the waist, and the skirt falls from the empire seam to the floor into a short sweep. Cut in a V, the neckline stops at a moderate depth. The sleeve is lined to the wrist.

Chiffon gives the skirt a light fall over the satin lining, so it holds to the hem. The sash is stitched at the waist rather than tied loose. Each sleeve carries lining to the cuff. A lace-up back sets the fit through the ribs. With satin lining below, the hem keeps an even line. The lace up closes the dress, which keeps the back looking tidy. The sash is set by hand, so it sits flat against the chiffon.
